About Our Tavern
This heritage bar, ran by Leo and Leona Cavadini for more than 60 years is the gathering for the locals, and a destination for people from SW Wisconsin, SE Minnesota, and NE Iowa. Car cruises and motorcycle rides make Leo & Leona's a stop on their routes.

The bar became a hangout for many of the NFL football players who trained in Wisconsin during the Cheese League days. The legend of the bar goes well beyond those Cheese League days and tells the tale of a place that became an institution in the region of the state for people who make Leo & Leona's a bucket list check-off.

The new owners, made up primarily of people who loved the old place and couldn't stand to see it go, bought the bar after Leona decided to retire. They fixed it up and opened the bar in 2008. Many things in the bar were kept and restored, so the feel of the days when Leo & Leona were working behind the bar can still be felt today.

It's right on the road, off Highway 33, east of La Crosse, Wisconsin, in a tiny place called Newburg Corners.
